Can you trust your comfort zone?

When I first heard this quote it stopped me in my tracks and I wonder if it will do the same for you.

When we're trying something new, our old friend fear can come up and tell us we're safer not trying, we're safer back in our comfort zone.  It's a compelling message because the familiar is a known quantity, even if we've outgrown it and it's time for something new.

Here's the quote:

WHEN YOU'RE NOT USED TO BEING CONFIDENT, CONFIDENCE WILL FEEL LIKE ARROGANCE

WHEN YOU'RE USED TO BEING PASSIVE, ASSERTIVENESS WILL FEEL LIKE AGGRESSION

WHEN YOU'RE NOT USED TO GETTING YOUR NEEDS MET, PRIORITISING YOURSELF FEELS SELFISH

YOUR COMFORT ZONE IS NOT ALWAYS A GOOD BENCHMARK OF WHAT IS RIGHT FOR YOU

Ooof. Did that hit you too? If it did, I encourage you to spend a little time thinking about what it means for you. Whether you think about it as you go about your day or journal on these questions:

When has this come up for me in the past?
How did I navigate it?
How is this coming up for me now?
What am I committing to doing now when these thoughts come up?

Growing a business, and any growth in life, is 20% action and 80% mindset.  We have to do the work to grow the business of course but we also need to grow our mind. And that’s what the Good Girl Rebellion is all about.
